You approach the door and grab the cold latch, when a disturbing flapping of winds sounds out behind you. A large river gull, grey with a blue-black tips on its wings, lands on the nearby post and stares intantly into your eyes. You wave at it to go away, but it seems to watch you even more closely !
The birds of the city are tame, but this is the middle of winter, and snow is still falling ! This gull, if it should be here at all (you doubt it), should certainly be nested.
If you ignore the bird and enter the tavern, go to 59. If you swat it with your sword to chase it off, go to 26. »
